Ladybird, Ladybug..

Ladybird, Ladybug,
A beetle, I may see ,
Climbing up and sleeping on,
The leaves upon the tree.

Ladybird, Ladybug,
With spots upon your wings.
As special as the nicest song,
The lovely thorn-bird sings.

Ladybird, Ladybug,
A gardener’s lucky charm.
As pest control, you eat the lice,
Protecting plants from harm.

Ladybird, Ladybug,
With the sun upon my face,
You climb along my outstretched finger
And slow my quickened pace.

Ladybird, ladybug,
A child I am once more.
Excited by your graceful presence,
Your beauty and charm; I adore.
